Default Had the front engine mount replaced when t-belt was done, noticed this the other day...

I was chaning my oil and noticed this bolt seemed to be sticking out from the housing that it is in front of the front engine mount (I think it has 3 bolts in a triangle pattern). Well, this one looks like the mechanic didn't screw it in all the way. What do you all think? I don't have the bentley manual, so I'm not sure what the bolt exactly is or how to access it.

it's an incredibly hard thing to photograph. It's easier to see when the picture is smaller.

I made the pic 50% smaller and still not sure what I'm looking at.

Default I believe that is the top of the triangle

you need to start off with a good set of small hands, then move onto some thin vice grips/tiny pliers. For the finishing touch, I recommend making a stubby 8mm allen key and giving it a good crank (at the end, it's a PITA). Good luck!

Default It's the bolt that is missing in this picture

Tighten using the tips the others have already given.

Default I put some loctite on those threads.. and just about every other bolt

loctite is cheap insurance against things coming apart like that. I don't use it on certain things, like the bolts that hold the coil packs in. Definitely all suspension bolts and mount bolts.

Default It's from my boss's allroad, I think the dealer cheated when they replaced his alternator and forgot

the bolt entirely. Still not sure how exactly they replaced the alt without removing the front end of the car.
