Has anyone ever broken the C-clip when installing the lower temp. after run sensor?

If so, what did you do?
Mine just broke into 3 pieces as I was pulling it out. I'd simply make one but the meat of it seemingly disappeared.

The obvious is to go to the local dealer and buy another, VW dealer will work also. *EDIT*
You may be able to fabricate something, use another C-Clamp as a template, I believe the temp sensor for the coolant temp on the opposite side (under MAF housing)is probably the same size.

If you careful, I'm sure you could strategically use some duct tape or something :)
Your right, not sure what I'm dealing with here 
Warning: Let coolant cool down!, use whatever means to keep the sensor from coming loose and spilling coolant
