Default Has anyone ever had license plate bolt holes filled in the front of their car?

The local Honda dealer has front plates on all their S2000's :-/, and I'd probably want to take it to a shop and have the holes filled and painted. How much does something like that cost?

I don't know if I can request that they get a car without the plates, since it's illegal, but I'll try.

Default big holes like audi has, or just small screw holes? a little 3m plastic filler and some sanding,

shouldn't be a bad job at all,, my guess is the most costly part will be having the bumper resprayed, My guess is less than an hours work, so the filler should only cost 65-75 at most...

S2000s have a threaded "nut" that's molded into the front bumper.

Default any decent bodyshop can still get them off... just remove the molded in inserts, plastic weld the

openings, smooth, prime, and repaint... again, having done a fair amount of bodywork myself, I would guess this is a 1 hour job, plus the time to prime, sand, paint etc... as long as those inserts are just in the bumper skin, and nothing too major behind it, the act of removing them is the easy part, the paintwork will be the costly.

Ok, thanks - how bad to the nuts looks when the plate is removed?

Default if they are the same pieces used in like civics, they are just like 10mm inserts, Out here, honda

will even give you these little colormatched plugs that fit in there since we don't require a front plate. maybe your dealership can source them for you?

Default The car should have come with painted plastic plugs that fill the holes....

I've been told Mechanics typically have a shelf full of them as the car is delivered with them. You might want to go in the back and ask if you can have a couple. My dad just bought a couple for his s2k for $5 each painted. You can pick up 4 single plugs at a hardware store though for 10 cents a piece also.
