Have a tire question....I have a set of 17" wheels that have 225/45/R17 tires
on them. I also have 2 wheels that are the exact same, only they are 18 inch wheels, same design. I have tires on the 2 wheels that are 235/40/R18 and I want to use them on the back to use the tires up. Can I run the 17" rims on the front and the 18" rims on the back without any problems?

I know...and it might look weird...but I don't really care, I just want to get them used...
I have to get new tires sometime for the 17" rims...and I figured I could use the 18's on the back and the 17's on the front, that way the 18 would get used rather than just sitting around...and it will allow me to get another summer out of the tires i have....what I am wondering is if it will have any effects on the AWD system or anything?

Your overall diameters may not be close enough between the two sets
and you really want the same diameter on all 4 corners with Quattro. You could grab a tape measure and find out, you want to be within 2% max difference.

Should be no more than 3/32 to 4/32" difference between tire dia's
most shops won't mount tires if the difference is greater than that.
IF you do mount them then you can potentially damage your center diff (AKA transfer case in a 4x4).
