You shouldn't use chains. You should be using All Season tires instead.

Default you might want to think about some cheap snow tires

chains will get going straight, but they won't help you stop or turn

Default not the ideal time for me buy snow tires...

unless someone wants to lend me their set for the weekend. Chains should be good enough... shouldn't they?

Default I wouldn't drive an s4 in the snow with summer tires + chains.

if there isn't snow or ice on the ground, you should be fine though.

First, chains won't fit. Manual says so, and it indeed is right. Second, if you think you can't afford winter tires, you can't afford the repair of a wrecked car. Should not have gotten it in the first place. Sorry.

Default I agree...

cant' afford winter tires can't afford repair of wrecked car.

Don't agree wtih shouldnt' have got the car. Don't know me... don't tell me how to live my life. I appreciate the recommendation though.

Let me rephrase... I'd rather not endure the expense of winter tires at the moment. The timing is not ideal. Just being up front as I always am.

Thanks for the info on the manual and chains. Haven't read it in a while.

Default If it's really a bad idea I'll opt to rent a truck for the weekend.

Thought it might be doable with out changing tires. Damn shame not to be able to use my car.

it's just really sketchy, if there's no snow you're golden though.
