This whole time I've been thinking that my turbo's have been going south on me, since I was getting that dentist drill whine.
I even would stay at speed around 60, gun it and listen as the drill sound got worse.
Turns out my Blizzak LM-22s make that noise when on smooth wet pavement at temperatures above 35 degrees. I guess I'm hearing the sipes getting air pushed in and out and when I gun it the increase in volume is nothing more than the increase in speed, not boost.
Figured it out this morning when on my way to work the road switched from smooth to heavily textured and the whine went away. I thought that was awfully odd that turbo's care what kind of pavement you are on. DOH!
