Those of you who know LA, the "ramp" that connects the 110 N and the 5 north coming from downtown LA know this little gem of a paved road, when driven just right can be quite exhillarating.
Well I was coming back from a little dinner in Santa Monica and a 330i with a body kit attempted to play with me.
Like NASA racer, this is my neck of the woods and clearly, that bimmer had no chance whatsoever. I waited like a tiger in the bush doing my speed limit and watching my rear view mirror as the bimmer crawled up. He was flying, trying to catch up with me as I had previously taken the 10 east to the 110 N ramp, which is a 2 lane, double apex decreasing radius turn quite briskly.
Well, he was on my *** like glitter on a **** star, so I'd give him a little taste of what the 4 rings is all about. I entered the turn which is a sharp left hander that opens up in about 40 feet to two lanes at 40 mph (posted limit is 25), and he looked a little shaken. Deciding he'd not have any of that, he got on my *** again.
The first part of the ess is an off camber pavement, followed by the 2nd part of the ess, and finally ending with an on camber, banked left hander. If you do this right, it's quite a thrill.
Okay, I down shifted into 2nd and let her rip. Right before the first ess, I upshifted into 3rd and bid my farewell.
The amazing thing is that he tried that antic and got all sideways and almost met up with the concrete barrier. Now he was pissed. He recovered, or shall I say the car recovered for him. He was going to show me that the roundel is not to be messed with. By this time, I had entered onto the 5 at about 85mph and signaled to get to the middle lane.
Shortly thereafter, he flew by me at an approximate speed of probably triple digits. I wasn't going to play, since I had my fun with him already.
It was fun.

There's another ramp, Fletcher Ave in Silverlake to the 2 north
Downhill for about 1/4 mile, 2 lane, and than a sharp left, 2 lanes on camber, and the bank's got to be like 30 degrees going uphill for about 100 or so feet, into a 90 degree right hander that merges at the apex to one lane.
That ramp is HELL a fun.
