Default My dealer...

Will not pay the price differential from conventional oil to synthetic, which I think is understandable since Audi has no reason to cover the cost for them - if they wanted to pay for synthetic under the Audi Advantage, they would have put synthetic in at the factory.

My dealer does charge $8.50/qt (!!) for Mobil 1 if you ask them to provide a synthetic oil. HOWEVER, if you buy your own Mobil 1 and bring it in, they'll install it at no charge. It would be nice if they gave some sort of credit for the conventional oil they are NOT installing, but that's really peanuts in the grand scheme of things and the extra accounting costs likely outweigh the effort.

I'll be bringing my car in next month for the first oil change, and I plan on buying my own Mobil 1 and bringing it in for them to install.
