Default Help! Brake pedal really firm before starting car?

I just had some audio system work done. Now before the car is started, the brake pedal is very firm and high. It never used to be like this. After the vacuum assist is on, the brakes funtion normally. Is this a result from the audio installer or a normal coincidence? Should I get it checked? What are your thoughts as to the source of the problem?

Check the vacuum line to the brake booster. Prob not plugged in all the way and is leaking down.

I apologize for my lack of engine bay/brake knowledge, but where might it be in the engine bay? I feel stupid. Thanks so much for the suggestion.

Default Booster line. You may have to remove the cover at the base of the w.shield (off in this pic)

they probably bumped the line when hooking up power lines to the battery.

donp, I am very grateful for all the help. I removed the cover, and checked the brake booster. It seems tight. The location where the hose runs from the manifold to the rubber valve is down alittle bit but tight nontheless. Should I unplug it and plug it back in? From which side would it most likely be loose...in front of the sheetmetal barrier or behind it?

And also, would I be able to tell if the hose was loose? I don't want to push and pull too much because everything seems tight? In other words, "What does plugged in all the way" mean?

So I can consider it normal? I wonder why it was never like that before the install...You will have to excuse the obsessiveness, but I had a horrible first experience with an audio installer before...I just want to make sure the nightmare is not a recurring one : )
