Default HELP...HELP...HELP Need some help with my fog light re-wire.....(more)

I performed the fog light relay re-wire a couple months ago by soldering a looped wire inside the relay box connecting the numbers 1, 2 and 4 connections together, and cutting off the three pins on the outside. The original job was done as close to the pictures as possible with a wire about 11/2-2" long and looped. Well, after about 10 to 12 hours of sitting, the fogs would come on by themselves when I turned on the ignition. So, I decided to re-solder another wire, replacing the original one, with one that was a little longer, maybe 3-4" long, and check my solder job. Well, that one did the same thing when I turned on the ignition, only the sitting time went to maybe 12-15 hours before it would happen, but it still happened. So, I pulled the relay again, and tried another wire, this time I soldered a wire straight across the three connections. Well, the time interval has dropped to maybe 8 to 10 hours before it grows a mind of it's own. So, now I get to my question. What do you think if I try another length of wire, this time making it as long as I possibly can, by looping it up and down as many times as I can inside the box. I am thinking that the longer wire will have enough resistance to keep the relay from firing when it gets hit with the initial shock of waking up the electrical system in the morning. Maybe I need to solder in a resitor, or a capacitor of some sort. I am far from an expert when it comes to circuit boards and electricity, so any suggestion would be greatly appreciated. I am sure some of you are wondering why I am putting so much time and effort into this job, but since I commited myself to the mod by cutting off the pins on the relay, I am not going to let this thing beat me, until I have it working exactly the way I want it, which is perfectly! Thanks in advance.

Take the relay apart and solder from the inside.

It is soldered on the inside. I could not make the outside solder job work at all.
