Default HELP! My short shift just went totally nuts - I can't shift into 1 or 2 without hunting - otherwise

I am in reverse. Basically when I push the gear **** to the left and up it goes right into reverse completely skipping first. I don't need to push down to get into reverse - whatever barrier that used to be there just disappeaered!!!!! I can still get into first and second but I have to "hunt" for them figuring out where inbetween reverse and 3rd is - it sucks big time. IS this something that can be fixed? Where would I look to see if somethings broken off? HELP!

Default unscrew your shift ****, take off the boot...

and it would be the clip that keeps the spring compressed on top of the shifter assembly.

Default first calm down...take off the sound proofing cover and get out your....

hex set then begin the process of moving the slider on the bottom into the right spot and then the upper bolt aswell. Check out the directions for the SS or go to www.RS4.org I think the site is

Default we already tried that - doesn't change the fact the gear shift goes right past the "stop" point into

where reverse lies.
