is there a trick to this? it looks as if the armrest should just pull up to remove...manual doesn't indicate any bolt attachments.

can't get the trim for the brake lever off either. i get it loose but then it is obstructed by the console cover, which is what i'm really trying to remove.

You don't need to take the armrest off. There are 12mm (if I remember correctly) bolts under the rear ashtray assembly and 2 8mm by the front seats that are hidden under the caps.
