I think I'll try the job without the cam locking tool I'm at 65k miles so it's definitely new timing belt time!

man . . . . talk about giving your money to ECS . . . . their timing belt kits are priced quite high.

Default I'm sure they're cheaper than the dealer:)

I'm the fool that paid $200/ea for front O2 sensors from the dealer because I was in such a rush to finish installing stage 3

I'll pay slightly more if the website is easy to use and shows everything, etc. WHere do you shop? thanks

Default "bare bones" huh? haha... to me that would be just the timing belt kit

Is the accessory belt tensioner assembly really necessary? I'm getting my TB/water pump replaced next week, should I be having that replaced as well?

Default

The price seems reasonable to me. Let us know how everything goes with the install!

Default probably not required

I don't want to get it torn apart and wish I would've bought it. I wondered how durable the pivot point is on that tensioner. I don't know if it has bushings that might develop slop over time. Sometimes I speculate too much

Default Nope, looks like you have more than my "bare bones" order. I did the Ultimate Timing belt kit....+

the Samco hose kit (figured since I was torn so far in might as well do those as well) I also picked up the cam lock bar, some extra coolant, New sparkplugs and an o-ring for the coolant sensor. (was easier to disconnect the sensor with the front lock carrier off the car, i.e. temp sensor out of the coolant tract, then trying to disconnect it while supporting the lock carrier)

Default hopefully before the belt snaps!

I'm not sure I'll get to it this holiday weekend but it will be very soon. I don't want to be one of the guys posting that the belt broke and I need a new engine. I have another car to drive so I might work on it for a couple hours after work each day, maybe next week.
