Hey guys, i think i need a new MAF, new spark plugs, new O2 sensors (all 4). I have a bunch of codes
from VAGCOM. It wasnt my VAGCOM, so the person who did it for me just gave me the code numbers and told me it could be MAF, spark plugs, and O2 sensors. Here are the numbers if anyone could tell me what they mean, and what to do about them:
16520
17584
16514
16815
16684
16688
16690
16826
I got a CEL after i gutted my precats on my stock downpipes, i never relocated the O2 sensors. I didnt relocate them because i was thinking about running test pipes, and installing spacers on the O2s. So, i dont know when all these codes came up. If i need a new MAF, is there a more reliabe solution than the stock Hitatchi? I cant run the RS4 without an RS4 airbox and accordian, correct? I was told to measure the MAF readings at idle, but i dont have a VAGCOM to do so... please help guys, thank you!!
*edit*- i took the EVO intake off, i think that is what caused any MAF problems, im running stock intake now. And, if i do need all these parts, could you guys point me somewhere to get them? from piggie? thanks!

not relocating O2 sensors after gutting precats will mos def throw codes....
i would go from there instead of swapping out everything. i had many of the similar codes and all were solved with (in my case) replacing the O2 sensors.
hope that helps.

Relocate the 02s before you do anything. STFA for the meaning of each code.
I have a sneaking suspicion that most, if not all, of those codes are related to the 02s not being relocated.

ok thanks. i took it to an exhaust shop and they were giong to relocate the 02s, but they couldnt
get enough length in the wire to reach behind the main cats... he showed me that he unclipped it from the tranny and everything and he tried to make it reach but it was short by inches. I think were missing something... any advice? thanks!

Here you go ...
Don't you think it's time to buy VAG-COM & Bentley ? If you're going to muck around with the car out of warranty it's a requirement !
16514 & 16520 = 02 Sensor Circ., Bank 1 Sensor 1 & 2 Malfunction
16815 = Warm Up Catalyst, Bank 2 Efficiency Below Threshold
17584 = O2 Correction Behind Catalyst, Bank 1 Limit Attained 2)
16684 = Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected2)
16688 = Cyl. 4 Misfire Detected
16690 = Cyl. 6 Misfire Detected
16826 = EVAP Emission Contr. Sys. (Small Leak) Leak Detected
Most of the O2 sensor codes are probably due to lack of relocating the O2 sensor after the only remaining Cat. You need to do this NOW !!!
The ECU depends on O2 sensor feedback for Air/Fuel & EGT info - it will hurt your performance. Fix it !
Yes. Misfires could be due to bad plugs
I didn't see anything that looked like it was from a bad MAF, but you have to run VAGCOM and look at mass air/flow readings to be sure - GET IT ?
