Default Hey guys! Quick question! What do you think about the AUDI/PORSCHE combination?

could this become a long term "lets borrow stuff from each other" type of relationship or what?

I so much hate BMW and DaimlerChrysler! Its just in the blood, but I am a little bit torn with the AUDI/PORSCHE thing!

What do you think?

I'd find it difficult to find anything wrong w/ this combo. Porsche = Very Good.

Default I think it was really a VW/Porsche thing from the get go but now that Audi is in VW's world they

inherited the relationship. Personally I think it sux in the service department because they all share the same service bays. Now you can't get an appointment for ****, not to mention it sux anywhay 8-(

Default It's been going on for a long long time...

For example, show me the difference between the climate control unit in my 996 and a 96 A4...

Every where you crawl around in a newer porsche you see the VW / Audi logo - on basic parts like wiper switches, etc..

Default VW/Porsche/Audi....

formed as one company, like Ford/Lincoln/Mercury (well, quite unlike FoMoCo, but you get what I mean), in the late '70s/early '80s. The technology exchange resulted in the improvement of all three marques. While Porsche pulled away, they continue the exchange of info, much as siblings do when they start their own families.

Longer than you might think, guess who designed the famous Auto Union G.P. car of the 30's?
