Default Hey LCP, about TWS laptimes.

Sorry I didn't follow up, forgot to check back. Anyhow, my third time at TWS, I pulled 2.06.515 and 2.06.6 laptimes. Me E36 is pretty stock, except for suspension and tires (was running the new Kumho Ecsta V700's, 235's all around).

So, I guess I'm faster than you since your last time out, but you have lots more hp now.

My lap times that weekend improved from 2.18, until I was pulling back to back 2.06 laps in traffic in the fastest run group after I was solo'd. I was still woosing out at T1, T7, and T12, all of which I know the car is capable handling flat out. I think I can pick up time at T5 too, after running with my buddy in his E36 race car, showing me just how fast you can get through there. (He pulls 1.57's with a 240 hp E36 M3)

There are two stock M3's that are driven by friends who are faster and better drivers than me. One pulls 2.03 laptimes, the other *tells* me he has pulled 2.01, but I'm not so sure about that. I am sure on the 2.03's though.

Default You're braking into (and through) T1...

...at least I was when entering it at 120+MPH. I think my speed at turn in for the connected T2 though was about 75ish and then I was flat out until the braking zone for T3. I still haven't done T7 flat out, and with 130 more HP now, don't think I will due to my expected speed at T7 entry being about 110mph now instead of 95-100mph it was before. If you're on V700's, T12 should be easy flat-out. =) I would lose a butt load of time on the slow corners in my nose-heavy, skinny-tired, understeering stock suspensioned S4.

Default T1 is very intimidating...

Until you learn to not fear the transition. I own T1! 8^)

Good times BTW!

Default Yeah, T1 is a crazy corner. B/c my exit out of the essess

is pretty good, I find about 130-135 at the end of the straight (Oval). I'm going fast enough that I scare the bejesus out of myself. . . as I approach turn-in off the banking, my brain tells me that I'm going too fast! So, I coast, turn-in, then accelerate downhill. My buddies take teh damn thing flat out.

T5 is deceiving, as it's a flat out 4th gear corner, you just gotta trust your car and let it push out to the turn-in for 6.

T7 I've been hitting at 105. Again, like T1 it scares the bejesus out of me. So again I lift.

T12 has been getting easier though. *Almost* flat out.

In the E36 chassis the rear trailing arm bushings are a weak point. I'll be upgrading them to help out with heavy trailbraking in T1 going into T2. We'll see.

Should be fun in the heat this August.

Default Thanks. But the transition can be damn unsettling

depending on where you hit it and how heavy your foot is on the loud pedal. The transition doesn't bother me so much as trying to get the car to settle down for some hard braking! Whew, I almost shat myself when my buddy was taking it flat out in his racecar. He got the rear end airborn, and it was rough. . . something to do with 800 lb springs I suppose.

Default I know what you mean!

I used to be scared going WOT into T1 and trying to #1 take as much speed as I could into T1, #2 try to keep the car as settled as possible going through the transition and #3 trying to slow down quick enough once the car settles for the left hander.

T3 - T6 is probably my favorite as it's an almost WOT run for me!

I can't wait to get the GTI out there...
