Higher mileage s4, longevity of motor/tranny etc.
Ive been looking for an s4 for a while, and all i can really afford is something with higher miles 80k+, so I can have some money to mod it.
My question is what are you guys opinions on buying a higher mileage s4, and how long does the motor/tranny/turbos last in these cars?

I don't see anything wrong with it as long as most or all of the maint items have
been taking care of and you are planning to upgrade the turbos anyway. I'm selling my 94K mileage S4 here soon and I can tell you thing runs as good now as a 40K mileage car. And it's had ALL the seals changed, has new K03/04 hybrids in it, and all fluids have been changed. So it should run for a long time with no qualms. Of course there are ALWAYS going to be issues with these cars. So don't think that just because a car has low mileage it's going to be problem free...it doesn't exactly mean that.

Re: Motor/tranny should last 200-300,000 miles or more. Turbos can last 10,000 or 150,000, all luck
Alright well thats good info, so none of you would really be opposed to buying an s4 with 80-100k miles on it?

DO NOT BUY THIS CAR if you cant afford to replace any given system at any given time.
mine has been rock solid, as have many others - but you might get a grenade, and you better be prepared for it if you do.
