And you don't want to still use the CD changer? That is easy. They sell RCA input to factory head units on ebay and other online stores. Just do a little searching. Search something like ""Audi" 2001 AUX adaptor" or input instead of adaptor.

Better yet, get a Soundgate docking station like what I used to solve this problem. It hooks up between the CD changer and the radio and allows you to switch between the CD Changer and two additional aux sources (I have one to my XM and another to an RCA jack for a MP3 player) with the use of a three position toggle switch. Overall I am very happy with the product and it has worked great since the simple install (I am very glad to be done with FM modulation issues). My only complaint is because it is not amplified and it does pose some resistance, there is a slight volume loss going through it, however this can usually be compensated for by increasing the output volume of the Sat radio/other source. If you are really interested I should be able to track down the exact part number that I have for you tomorrow or otherwise you can get more info off Soundgates website or in the forum archives.

I never had a CD changer so I used a cable designed to map my Sirius to the changer cable in the trunk. No splices is good, wiring from right next to the radio back to the trunk was not so good. It has worked for years and sure beats any of the FM units I have heard. I do have the same volume loss mentioned by Indyxtype and there is no control from the head unit; I have to make all adjustments other than volume on the Sirius unit itself.
