Use a pressure bleeder, and its time consuming but easy.

Is there a write up? I didn't see one, was wondering what tools I would need - size of wrench - etc.

Default I borrowed it from a friend, but yeah...

Screw it onto the brake fluid resevoir, add two quarts of brake fluid, and pump it up, and you can bleed them easily using nothing but a catch bottle/tube and a wrench.

Its a good idea to use a VAG took to cycle the ABS controller, too.

Default Brake bleeding made easy

I've been using the Motive pressure bleeder lately and have been happy with it. Allows you to bleed brakes with one person and uses a lot less fluid than the old fashioned way.

Also, rather than fill it with fluid, what I do top up the fluid and is simply use the Motive pressure bleeder to pressurize the resevoir (this keeps the pressure bleeder uncontaminated and lets me use it when I need to pressure test other things).

Motice Brake Bleeders
