How do I remove Pin stripe?
I purchased my car over the weekend out of state and realized once I got there they had applied pin stripes to the car. With out being able to go back to the dealership I will need to find a way to remove it myself. I know some shops charge to remove it but I wasn't sure if this was a do it yourself project. My questions are what do I need to remove pin stripes and what has it already done to the paint underneth, if anything?
Thanks for your help,
Scott

Check at a good automotive paint supply shop. 3M makes stuff to remove them cleanly

I can't believe that a dealer could do this to an S4....unbelievable
It is almost as bad as those marketing geniuses that adfix a metal sign on the back of your car advertising for their dealership. They think car purchasers like this? What a joke.

Probably 1/3 of the Japanese and 3/4 of the domestic dealerships in Houston put metal logos on
It's absolutely amazing. I think some of the country dealerships still etch the name of the dealer on pickup truck bumpers out in the country here. I can't believe people (1) take delivery of their car like that and (2) never removed that damn thing.

What dealership did this to you? Where?

I bought mine at the same dealer and need to get them off also. It was worth the discount to have to remove the pin stripes.<p>00 Black S4

Re: How do I remove Pin stripe?
Well I dont have an S4 but I took off the stripe from my M3 by leaving it out in 90 degree sun for 20 minutes and then slowly peeling it off. Bug and tar remover took off all the glue that was left over.

Re: How do I remove Pin stripe?
You don't say whether the stripes are painted on or are vinyl pressure sensitive tape. In any event, take the car to the best body shop you can find and let them take a look at it. You have a load of $$$ invested in that car and the last thing you want to do is to wreck a multi-thousand dollar paint job.
