How long do you think it "reasonable" to wait to service your Audi? (SF Bay Area?)
I am curious to what others think about getting service on their Audi....it the Bay Area, most of the dealerships have long waits...as much as 5, even 6 weeks at times. Is this reasonable? What is your comfort level with this? Me? I think no longer than two weeks is what I desire...but I could live with 3 weeks? And you?
People in remote areas where Audi cars are so popular can get in earlier than that...but I am talking about high demand areas for Audi...like Northern and Southern California...and the Northeast (CT/MA/PA...etc).
Put your response in the "subject" line of your post. Thanks.

2-3 weeks is reasonable. 5-6 weeks is what we get in Austin.
And Austin isn't particularly a booming Audi town. Sure, there's a few of us, but BMW dramatically outsells Audi here.
I've recently started taking a different route home from work, one which goes through the affluent west hills of Austin, so there are lots of nice cars to be seen on this drive. I've started comparing the number of BMWs I see to Audis. They clearly outnumber us by about 10:1.
Last Wednesday, I counted 46 BMWs on my drive home, including a representative of almost every car BMW makes or has made in the past 10 years. Tons of E46 3-series, at bunch of E36 M3s, some 5-series cars (including an E39 M5), a few 740s, one 840, two old 6-series cars, about half a dozen X5s, a dozen Z3s of various designations, and an E30 M3 or two.
I counted 3 Audis. One silver A4, a melange A6, and a black 100.
Despite Audi's small presence in Austin, Charles Maund is still unable to deal with the service load; service appointments are made 5 to 6 weeks out. Clearly, they don't have enough qualified techs. Maund is the only Audi dealer in Austin.
However, John Roberts is the only BMW dealer in Austin. Despite having 10 times as many potential service customers, I've heard their lead time is only 3 weeks or so.

Re: 3wks max...5-6 is a JOKE...haven't sched'd my 1st svc yet, sounds like I should call right away!
When I got my S4 from Carlsen, they said they needed about 5 weeks notice.
-Senthil

I think it depends on what the service is.
Oil changes shouldn't be more than a week, max.
Anything safety related should be right away.
You get the idea!
My dealer is about 3 weeks out, but when the instrument cluster went blank, they considered it urgent and fit me in within just a couple days. They've also done quicky VAG fixes and bulbs right away.
Now, the Nissan dealer scares me! I just drive in and they either take care of me then or within two days unless they need a part or something.

Safety issues should be expedited...but things like squeaks...mini liquid leaks and the like...
Should be made to wait...I actually think oil changes should wait also.
