Default How long should you wait before you Chip your car?

I would think you should wait till after 1,000 miles, but is there any standard amount of miles you guys have waited? Should you wait till after the first oil change? I searched a bit and have seen all sorts of different witing periods for people in the Forum, and just wanted to get some more opinions. Thanks!

Just kidding. Well not really......

Depends on how much you drive really.....i did'nt chip the car for 3 months and felt BIG time difference and appreciated it. Now....if i waited 3 days......i'd still love it GOBS and love it again when i swithc to stock then back to good ol (shameless plug) MTMg2 (wait i don't sell these...) and WHAP!!!

Ummmm yeah chill for couple thousand miles. Then come to the darkside =)
-Cheng

I would wait at least until 8K, give those piston rings time to seat and switch to synth oil first

I would never eat chips in my car. That is saying a lot considering my appetite.

Default Re: Car somes with synth NOT!

Ok, so that means you know better right ?

I don't know of any car maker that puts synt in new cars.

Perhaps Ferrary or Viper and others, but I bet they ran them with dino oil at the factory for a while to 'seat' them.
Jose

Default Porsche, BMW, Mercedes, Ferrari, Lamboghini...

There's probably lots of others...

And according to two different service managers, Audi's entire S line (S4, S6, S8).

Thats why you can put dino in after break-in -- synth to dino doesn't require flushing the engine, but dino to synth does, and they don't flush the engine when they do it.
