How many of you run stoptechs durring the winter

Doesn't stoptech recommend rinsing the brakes with water after driving in snowy/salty conditions?
One reason I'd never do Stoptech brakes. My car is a hardy New England S4, not a ninny that needs to be rinsed off after a little salt.

yes, but my hat cracked at the guide pins on the pass side (after 4 winters)
I drove them until the rotors were completely done.
new hats appear to be a different design. hopefully, these don't crack.

yea, what kind of a solution is that? how about stoptech design some better brakes? those hacks
i hate how they make it sound normal like we shoulda known ...
duhhh its galvanic corrosion, you take too dissimilar metals with different electronegativities and add salt ... it becomes a battery.
just wash them off everytime you drive ... no big deal right?????
oh also i think its also great that they sell the floating rotor design as "it should be cheaper because u can keep the hats, just change the rings of the rotor" ... ive actually kept the rotor ring, and had to change the hats!!!! WTF IS THAT BS?!
hats are $200 EACH ... so 400 for their design flaw.
not to mention their early rotor hat design didnt make the bolt holes oval to account for the different thermal expansion of cast iron / aluminum ...

i wanted to post this twice so people in salty climates at least know whats up

I do. My first set of hats had some cracks after 3 winters.
The current hats are going through their 2nd winter ...they look good so far. They will not see a 3rd winter since new Alcons are sitting in my basement waiting for Spring to break. :-)
