how much are BPV's? should i have em? why/why not?

I've got them..
Bought the ones from Stratmosphere.com
My intial impressions are that after a shift, the turbos come back online more quickly, providing less turbo lag between shifts.
I did the installation by myself with only a screwdriver, razor knife, and some elbow grease (not available in stores).
I forgot how much I paid for them, but they are about the cheapest mod you can do.. heh. I guess im a price-no-object shopper when it comes to my car.

maybe your bPv's are toast.....check out forge or bailey bypass valves...
if your running stock bpv's they could be sticking....this could cause you to lose power....
our cars were designed to run bypass/recirculation valves....there has been a lot of debate on the merits of using blow off valves on S4's ...hence my sarcastic remark :-)

as anyone in Phoenix, AZ. can attest....
the dealership here is overly mod-friendly. if you do work with their motorsports guy (who is very skilled and highly proffesional), you will never have an issue... so i am not afraid. just wondering what the BPV's do for me exactly. i'm new to the turbo scene.
