Default How much does it cost to go from Stock to Stage 3-

Just trying to get some ideas... Did a bit of searching but found no concise answers... Needless to say is that now that the weather is getting better and the windows are down... the turbos are starting to whine a bit more... Perhaps I am just being paranoid(what s4 owner isnt)...

Anyway. I am stock, other than dv's, tbb and boost guage. please let me know

thanks

Default Well...

You need the following at a bare minimum:

KO4s - $2200-2400
Inlet hardware - $500
Software - I think that's about $700
4 bar FPR, or is it 5 bar - $200 or so

Then the niceties are DPs (Piggies at $400), New clutch (it depends) so figure out how nice you want to go.

Then you have labor which if you're lucky will be around a $1000 to about $2000 give or take.

Default Not really...

NO on the stock software, and stock fueling is a partial YES but you need the 4 or 5 bar FPR. Even then you max out the injector capacity.

I mean you could, but don't expect any gains.

How much of a power increase would it be with just K04's? (no fueling and no software)

Default No gains with stock softwre, or minimal (edited)

Then again I'm thinking of going from x-chip (stage 2) to KO4s. from what I understand that software would cause an overboost condition with KO4s in place of KO3s. I guess going from KO3s to KO4s without any other stuff is fine, but not many perceptible gains.

Default WTF? No you won't. You can run K04s and all else stock if you want.

As for power increases, not much at all. The only car I've ever logged with K04s and stock everything else was less than a half second faster than when stock with K03s.

Default Re-read my previous post I corrected myself...

Also, I think I'm remember a conversation I had with J. Moss that running KO4s on X-sauce is not a good idea, and that's what I went from. I am pretty sure he told me that using x-sauce with KO4s will result in overboost and other crappy situations.

Default Not true at all. I did for a few months with no issues before going 3-

Easy way to make sure you break the new clutch in nicely. Then I went back for the chip, MBC, TCD and 5 bar FPR.
