How much is good service worth? It's hard to put a number on it, admittedly.

It is a bit easier to put a number on how much poor service can cost you, however.

Default AoA felt it was worth a lot of money, as they capitulated and have sent me a check to settle my

problems with my dealer's crappy service. It's The Audi Connection in Cincinnati. I have outlined my problems with them before, but the highlights are 3 driveline (engine and tranny) R&R's, some damage to the car while trying to repair it, a total catastrophic failure of the braking system (hard brake line failed due to improper reassembly of the brake lines and support brackets) and still unresolved seat rocking issues.

It is a lot easier to live with now that Audi has given me their special, retroactive cash rebate worth more than 25% of the car's original MSRP! Who says lawyers are worthless? It took some serious time, but in the end I feel vindicated and I hope that this settlement counts against the dealer somehow (haven't been able to get someone in the know to confirm this aspect - does dealer get black mark for legal settlement short of lemon-law buyback?). So if you have issues and you're willing to be patient and get a lawyer involved (mine worked on total contingency, so their cut was large but my cut was better than nothing like AoA was giving me - other than the runaround - before I went legal on their a$$) AoA is handing out the CASH!

Default Just wanted to send a special thanks out to my FOM who was instrumental in getting me this award by

being so pig-headed. It's fun to manipulate arrogant people in BBB Arbitration hearings!

Default Yeah, I'm hanging onto it. Everything is OK now that I fixed the screwed-up stuff the dealer

supposedly repaired (except for the seat - I'll try the ECS parts for the rocking seat fix soon). I bought the Audi Pure Protection extended warranty, mainly on advice of my lawyer. This way, if my dealer claims that there were any pre-existing problems with my car, they will be guilty of fraud, as the car is supposed to be checked out before the warranty is issued, and of course they didn't check out anything prior to selling it to me. It may not be the best warranty for the $, but it will be impossible for the dealer to weasel out of any repairs due to the Audi branding - and besides, unless its a major problem, I'll just DIY.
