how much of a PITA is to change the cam seal in the back of the motor driver side?
it was just changed and the thing it was leaking from the get go.. i thought it was the valve cover at first ;(

It's not that big of deal if a bunch of stuff is off from the top.....I did mine when I did my....
timing belt.
I had an Audi tech friend come over because I didn't have the little tool to push down the cam tensioner.
The other thing you need to be careful of is folding over the edge of the little rubber seal - I guess it's pretty easy to do when installing if you're not careful.
I'm not sure where you'd get the tool but I think you need to use it.
The part is ~$5 IIRC.

that's the problem i don't have the tool .. i'll just have to yank it out ;(
on the front i drill a little hole in the seal and pull it out hooking it by that.

well, based on how flimsy the little tool was, I can't imagine it's too expensive....
Might be worth looking into getting one.
It's an Audi tool so it should only cost a billion dollars.
