Default (HRE) wheel refinishing

I know yesterday SAC-CA-S4 posted how much it would cost so much to have his HRE's redone and someone suggested taking it to Wheels America. Well there's a body shop across the bldg. from my work and looking outside my window, and oddly enough I see a Wheels America truck pull up to pick up a wheel from the body shop. The thought briefly crosses my mind to go and talk to the guy about refinishing my HRE wheels when he comes out of the bodyshop and straight-up DROPS the wheel in the back of the cab to where the big F350's *** dropped. After seeing that, I wouldn't have them fix an avus wheel, let alone HRE.
SAC, I wouldn't recommend sending the wheel to HRE. But if you're trying to get the center brushed (like I'm doing with mine) then you'll need to send them somewhere that specializes in that. I was quoted ~$650 to do my set of wheels for brushed center/polished lip and clearcoating.

Default I've had multiple sets of rims done at Wheels America and they do great work.....

They are local to me (in Arlington Heights, IL - just north of Chicago)...

The price is right and the wheels look good.

They have done a set of Avus rims in black, a set of BBS RKIIs for me and now have my HRE540s for the second time.

Default Jason..will you email me pics when your HRE's are done? I find it hard that

Wheels America(at least the one in SF), can rip apart 3 piece wheels, paint them or refinish them, put them back together, balance them, etc. in 24 hours. That's what the one in SF told me.

Default If you end up getting them done there, if you don't mind shoot me some pics when they

are done and how the experience was. I'd appreciate it.

Default yep, will do. They are taking extra long because HRE f-ed up the repair....

I had a bent innner lip that Wheels America couldn't fix. The rim was sent from Chicago to CA.

HRE sent the rim back to Chicago with the wrong size inner lip (they tunred the wheel from a 17x8 into a 17x7.5). The wheel has been shipped back to HRE to get the correct lip on and then will be sent back to Wheels America for the refinishing.

Hopefully I'll have them back by the winter

Default I'd also be interested in seeing pics of the 540's. That's what I have

And what finish did you get on them?

Default Here....this is what they looked like after the last re-do. This current re-do is.....

is just because the place was having a deal for Audiworld people and I needed one redone (used an impact without Teflon coating and the hole for the bolt got all chipped up).
