Default SOME people with B5 S4s had clutch squeek...

...why risk it. It's not THAT great a fluid. I mean, if it were Castrol SRF, then the risk would be worth it, but not for ATE Super Blue.

Just run Motul 5.1, it's a known in all cases.

Default Facts in here

I installed a new BBK a couple of months ago, and put in Super Blue. A couple of weeks later my clutch started to squeak. It got pretty bad, especially when it was cold or wet outside. My mechanic tore everything apart trying to find the problem, with no success. Everything looked fine. Then I did a search on AW, and found posts derying Super Blue for our cars. Since nothing else had worked, I bought about 7 pints of Motul 600, and used to completely flush out and replace the Super Blue. The squeaking was gone withing 12 hours, and has not returned after about two weeks.

Default No technical data, but what can I say...my ABS pump started leaking...

...and it happened to another guy in an A4, both within a month of each other, and several months earlier we had both just put in SuperBlue at the same track event together. Both of my clutch cylinders also went to the crapper another several months later. He sold his A4 by then so I don't know if his did too. I also knew of others personally that lost clutch or braking components after having used the ATE.

Default hm I'm about to do the same, just need a good street fluid.

Off the shelf at Auto Zone? Or is there anything better than stock that will not requirte frequent changes?

LCP I read your post about Valvo Synthetic, I may go with that, I liked it ok in my E30 and 300E.

Default I've used the Valvoline synthetic BF for the last 70k miles or so.

Flushed it once and it looked fine. No braking/clutch system trouble at all, not even the almost 130k mile old ABS unit. (crossing fingers)

Default thanks for the quick replies

now i am not going out to the garage to do this, ECS seems to think this stuff is fine to keep selling, they of course say thay cant be sure nothing ill will come of it, but they also say that they have never seen issues themselves.

Run Motul RBF600.
