as much as I loved that car, my experience with tuning a B5 S4 was much more pleasureable...
I am a bigger fan of the turbocharger than I am the supercharger. It would take a special car to make me turn back. Also, I would not consider a turbo system on an E36 M3...

to elaborate...
granted, my M3 was agressively modified, and my S4 was only a stage II+ - so it's not apples to apples... however, I always felt like I was about to break my M3, towards the end of my ownership, the maintence became frequent and expensive (a horrible combination). During the three years of S4 ownership, I came out of pocket only for mods and tires... literally not one cent otherwise. It was very easy to own and enjoy that car (however, once out of warranty, I dumped it as fast as I could).
