Default I found some great wheels for the S4.....

For anyone who might be interested, the Oettinger RE will fit the S4. It is a very simple and clean five spoke, one-piece design. Available in 17x8 and 18x8. Weights are 22 and 24lbs respectively. offset 35mm. $469 each for 17x8. I'll be ordering mine on Monday from 1552 Design, for use with the stock Bridgestone tires. I was thinking to upgrade the tires, but I simply can't justify "throwing away" perfectly good stock tires. I have currently mounted Dunlop Winter Sport M2, 225/45/HR-17 on the stock wheels.

Default The long saga of my pics....

For all those who don't know, I've installed some Reiger sport mirrors and Type M rear wing on my Nogaro S4. I had promised to post some pictures. Well, I had bought a new computer three weeks ago, and the hard drive was defective. When I got the new unit, the scanner software was incompatible with the computer, so I had to get a new scanner. Now, it all seems to be working, except... I can't seem to paste scanned photographs into other locations. If and when I can get it all together, I will post the pics. In the meantime, you'll have to take my word that both pieces are of very high quality, are quite stylish and tasteful. LLtek has updated their website. Try to look for pictures there, or get their catalog.

How's the paint quality? That's my biggest concern.

According to LLtek, they use a seven coat paint process. I found my parts to be of exceptional quality. The color match was absolutely perfect, as was the finish. I know people who have had color matching problems with aftermarket body parts, but this is usually due to the fact that the car is already a couple of years old, and the paint on the car has "weathered" a little from its original finish. This shouldn't be a problem if you get the parts when your car is still new. It is for this very reason that I chose to do my body modifications right away. By the way, a few of the other people who are regulars on this forum, AvramD and mpm, have both seen my parts at the Northeast Audi BBQ last month. Whether or not they liked the styling is a personal preference kind of thing, but I'm sure they can attest to the quality of the product and finish.

Default I too am very fond of the RE. (More)

Just having a tough time pulling the trigger for ~2000.00 for a set up wheels. Is 1552 the only supplier of Oettinger wheels in the US? Can we not do better than 469.00? I'd go for it at 399.00

As you can see, it's a very clean looking wheel. And a lot of $$ for something so simple. But hey, quality is what the S4 is all about isn't it??? :-)
I can't wait to see Vijay's car after the install and he posts pic's!

BTW, Vijay, have you lowered your car yet?

Default I don't know about you guys, but I think the *Avus* wheels are a classic!

I do understand about wanting to make your car more unique, though.

Default Re: I agree, only a special Audi could wear those fantastic looking rims...BUT

1) They are boat anchors--just had one replaced and needed a crane to lift the old one into the trunk (well, not really, but you get the point)

2) I am forever relegated to hand-washing my car--no automatic car washes for THOSE wheels.

...so, I also see folks' point who want to change the wheels out.

I won't be actually mounting the wheels until next spring. As for suspension, I'm not sure what I'll do. I do feel that the car has a bit too much body roll-more than my old 1993 Prelude VTEC w/ stock suspension, but will probably do chip & exhaust first-maybe next spring. As far as lowering, I can't say that I'm into that look too much. Too many rice boys out there with slammed civics. If I didn't live in New England, with bad roads and nasty winters, I would probably lower an inch, but not more than that. I
