Am I the only one who was a little disappointed in most of the show cars?
Don't get me wrong, there's some damn fast cars there, but two things got me down a bit about the show.
One was that there were SO many Audis there that were treading, in my opinion, way too close to the line between cool modifications, and over-the-top ricers. Having seen how the cars have all progressed between years, this doesn't bode well for next year.
Second, I was disappointed in the lack of interesting new products. Everyone was showing off their K04 kits, but I couldn't help but think that they were all based on the same damn parts, all sourced from Audi. Has innovation started to dry up in the Audi tuning market? There wasn't any interesting innovative new ideas being presented there, like AWE did last year with the DTS, and UUC did the year before... I was disappointed there wasn't anyone showing off the TripComp prototype, for example.
The only thing I saw there that really impressed me was the NavPlus in Zev's car. That's a hack job that impresses me the way I was impressed when someone reverse engineered the diagnostic bus in the Tivo and got ethernet working...
Entertaining show, though. Maybe I'm just getting old and all this kid stuff isn't impressing me any more ;-)

I must agree with you on this...... this is my first time and I wasn't too impress with it either
I thought somewhere GIAC will have the IBE chip ready or APR have kill swith built into the chip. Maybe because Audi stop making the S the vendor stop bring out the new idea ?
