I have a nickel that wedged my ashtray shut and it won't open. I can take the cover off....

Default I have a nickel that wedged my ashtray shut and it won't open. I can take the cover off....
but it won't open. It has been like this for a few months. Just trying to fix everything this weekend.

Default Remove the shift plate
by pulling up from the e-brake side. Once you have it out grab the ashtray from the bottom and pull it out. That should work, good luck.

Default Agreed be careful if you remove the cover two small tabs on the bottom have lips
that can break off and the cover will not stay on again.

I tried that. I still can't get under it to pull it open.
