Default I smoked a Texaco CART car today

of course it was being pushed by one of the pit guys. I offered to race, but all he was laugh. hmmph imagine that.

I was at Texaco this morning while the racing guys were setting up a display with a car and other stuff for the race coming up. I wonder if that was a real car and not just a shell.

Default ha I lead Al Unser Jr through the esses at Riverside and he was in his CART car...

and I was in a Mazda 626.

They were doing testing on a day when we were having a Jim Russell school and he went out and came back and asked me if I could move one of the turn-in cones because it was on the track in his way.

So I jumped into the school 626 and went flat out at 100+mph through the esses and he was behind me idling along revving. He was sensible enough to wait until I was fully back into the pits before going for it and he wasn't going to risk his car passing me with a flick of his foot.

I can still see that though, him back there in my rearview mirrors as I tore flat-out through the esses hehehehe.
