Default Ideas on making KW V2 and V3 shocks adjustable from inside the cabin

I want to have the ability of stiffenening the rebound when the car is going over 80 mph.

My ideas are as follows

Connect steel cables to allen keys inserted in to the shock spindles through the holes previously drilled in the shock towers when the coilovers were installed.

<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/24943/sdp_si.jpg">

and then have the cable spindles driven by Radio Control Model high torque servos. The full range of adjustment needed is only about 90 degrees / quarter turn

<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/24943/futm0043.jpg">

The servos would be driven / controlled by an Astro Flight servo tester / driver
<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/24943/astm0105.jpg">

This box would be mounted inside the ash tray. It would of course be possible to bring the potentiometer wires outside of the box and to mount the pot somewhere on the dash

Appreciate comments and ideas

Default Pogo problems? Same thing on my Motorsports (Koni). I chalk it up to poor design.

You'd probably be better off saving your time and money and investing in something that doesn't inherently pogo (if that's what's wrong).

Default i've always heard the pogo term on here, can you describe it?

Is it bouncy, kinda like being underdamped? but why in a well damped system does this happen and only at high speeds? is it etrxa aerodynamic lift pushing teh same direction as the springs?

Default

where do you have the adjustments at? And what spring rates?

Default Front springs are supposed to be about 800+ rear 500+

Although the springs are progressive

The front rebound adjustment is at 2 clicks = 1/2 turn

I would like to adjust it to 1 click = 1/4 turn at high speed

Default At high speed the car has a lot more energy that needs to be absorbed

Quite a few upmarket cars have spped sensitive shock absorbers which become stiffer as the car goes faster

Default I would not call it Pogoing. Perfect setup for 40 mph is too soft for over 100 mph

The shocks are adjustable, just want to make it more convenient

Default i was asking OW Kenobi, but since you replied...

So I assume your adjustments are from FULL MAX rebound, since you want to increase at speed.

Honestly, the biggest issue I've seen at speed (freeway driving) with damper adjustments is an inbalance front to rear.

The Track Sport and KONI Motor Sport kits run a lot more rebound then the KW kit does, so direct adjustment settings won't carry over, but most people look for more compliance on the highway, so they soften up the rebound settings.

Inbalance front to rear, or pogoing, should be dialed out with less rebound, or more/less rebound on one end of the car only.

You should notice very little sacrifice in normal driving with the extra 1/4 turn of rebound in your KW V3 shock. If you find the additional roll control is adding harshness, turn down the compression to offset it.

What is the actual issue you feel at speed on the highway that makes you want to add rebound?
