Default There is no point if it is not connected to the tranny.

unless your point is to have something extra to bottom out on!

Default of course. the whole point of dts is to provide flexible mounting point to the body

otherwise it will just provide some extra strength to the body (think of it as lower brace)

That's not true - it wil act a as a very sturdy crossmember - much better than the stock POS

Default Well, my point is that the whole reason you install the DTS is to stop tranny movement.

if you dont attach it to the tranny, then it's not doing it's job.

Default I believe they wanted it to provide stability but not to the point that you experience vibrations.

I believe that there is a Urithane mount that fits as well. AWE MIGHT have the part number if you wish to buy it.

Default Well, after putting it in my car......

I didn't really like some of the effects
(Horrid lift throttle bucking and increased resonance), but I think I'm going to take off teh rubber mount and keep the tie bar there to firm up the torsional rigidity of the subframe.

The OEM bar is a joke.

Horrid lift throttle bucking? I thought it is supposed to get rid of that!

Default It eliminates the slop, making the bucking more direct and immediate.

BTW - I have the APR snub mount, and 1 .8t modded to over 300HP, so that exaggerates the effect.
