If I'm going to run 235/40/18 tires, should I worry about rubbing inside or outside.

Plus they're way too skinny for an 8.5" rim.

Default Exactly. Mine are 255's.

When I had 235's, looked like curb rash city. Tires did not fit rims. 255's look nice.

Default Well, I think the 225s are fine as far as fitting the 8.5" wheel. I'm just looking for more height.

If that's going to take fender rolling and liner cutting, it's just not worth it for me. And even if I do, according to the responses here, it's still not a sure thing so it more risk than reward in my opinion. I guess I'll just go with a 225 with a stiffer sidewall like the Goodyear GSD3.

235's on an 8.5" rim do look too skinny. They look okay though on an 8" rim.

Default GS-D3 does not really have a stiff sidewall. It'll be stiffer than the SP9000's but not by a lot.

If you want a truly rigid bone jarring sidewall, get S-03's.

Default I disagree, the S03's and now the GS-D3's,

look fine, they both run wide. Even the wheel protection on the S03's came out just far enough to protect my 18" BBS CH's.

Default Those are the tire specs, not how they will fit under a S4 wheel well.

Just because they can fit 9" rims doesn't mean anything as far as the wheel well.

Default They'll look goofy though. The "stretched" rubber, exposed lip look is not a good one IMO.

I much prefer a wheel that looks like the tire extends beyond the wheel, you know, like tires and wheels kind of looked before people started using O-rings stretched around a massive piece of round aluminum as an excuse for tires.

Quick Reply: If I'm going to run 235/40/18 tires, should I worry about rubbing inside or outside.
