would you take it? The person that I had detail my car yesterday said that he wanted to buy it. It's a 2000 w/ 29k on it. I bought it in May of 2001 w/ 8k miles on it from a friend for $34k. I know that I could probably get $33k for it but that would include everything that I've put into the car...wheels, suspension, chip, etc.... The only problem is that I have no idea what I would want...I've looked at the new M3's and I took an NSX out for a little while last night...but nothing really "does it" for me right now. What would you do?

I didn't say I was getting an M3...I said I looked at them and an NSX so far..
and nothing really made me want to go out and spend the extra money. I really have no idea what I would want to get, but an opportunity to get what you pay for a car over a year after you bought it doesn't come up very often.

Buyers have a way of talking, but when it's time to put the money on the table...
they flake out.
Are you SURE he's willing to put $34K on the table for a '00 w/29K miles. Even with the mods on it, that's high. I don't mean to insult you or your car...I'm just saying that people talk, but when it comes time to open their wallets, the story changes.
If there is something else you've had your eye on, it's worth considering, but if there isn't anything else, you have your answer.

I know he's serious because he wanted to buy the car from my friend before he sold it to me....
I don't think he know's what I ended up paying for it but I told him last night that I'd want at least $33k for it and he seemed ok with that. My friend is the general manager of an exotic dealership here and he details all of there cars. After I bought the S4 (it was my friends personal car...he just never used it) he bought a C5 from them but really wanted the S4. I have had my eye on a new M3 and I'm not too worried about the motors on them as every new, high performance cars have there own problems. Some people with M3's might not buy an S4 because they hear that the turbos blow...I just don't know if I want to spend the extra money right now to step up to the M3.
