If you where designing an engine mount from scratch what would you incorperate.
Already have a source for PolyU Castings and specialized dampning formulas..
But as far as desinging the aluminum around it.. any ideas.. Ive been tossing too many around.. im all confused

Sir..
PolyU comes in hardness from Rubber band to golf ball.
Also your knock sensors are going to be a little more active, and if your still running ME 7, then your timing retard will affect your power - But you already know that. Being on the smooth track will not isolate your motor from the same frequencies that the KS are sensitive too.
Im making something cheaper ( ~ rs4 mount prices + maybe 30$ more ) and better than the current ones out there.
I just need some more insight on the design part, for instance my main concern is when the mount will be under tension. ( - g's, or crazy car twisting torque, aka clutch drops )
Also, im working on my Autronic integration, damn DBW

Thread Jack: JohnnyB...thanks for your advice last week on my broken tiptronic shifter...
pull up lever. I was able to do what you suggested and the wife's Passat is up and running. Cheers to you, sir!
