Default I'm about to run my head into a wall... I can't find a vibration issue that seems to fade in and out

rythmically at speeds around and above 30. At 50 and above, the steering wheel and pedals vibrate as well. The front end just feels loose for some reason. Control arms seem okay, bushings are old but APPEAR to be fine.. tires are new, so are rotors and rims aren't bent... !!! anyone have this issue? 2000 S4 6Spd

I just had a front bearing go that didn't whine. Instead made a repetitive whump-whump noise 30-70

Default common things are - unbalanced wheels, bent wheels, irregularly worn tires. i had a very

annoying vibration that turned out to be bent wheels (all of them - from the wonderful tri-state roads). Sometimes i could get them balanced such that was minimized but it never went away. Never got rid of it until i bought new wheels and tires. I was completely amazed at how smooth the car was with brand new wheels and tires with a fresh balance.

If you haven't had a balance done recently - I'd try that and ask the tech if he can identify any bent wheels and if so - place those at the rear.

Default I've got it too, had my wheels balanced a bunch of times, my CA's etc checked, and I still don't...

know what it is. I am going to look at my driveshaft center bearing. Mine is a shake that is sometimes there, and sometimes not. Comes on worst at 75-80 MPH and 3k-4k rpm, gets worse when I'm coming off of rapid acceleration. Keep me updated and I'll do the same!

Default get under the car and check the center support bearing for the driveshaft. i just replaced mine

same type of problem but worse for me. I would get a serious thump from under the car when i would go past half throttle. turned out the bearing had about 2-3 inches of play in it.
