I'm curious what will happen once the new S4 comes out...
Has the current S4 been produced in enough numbers and long enough for the aftermarket community to continue to support and develop products for it?

Nope...buy everything in sight NOW! 8^)...
I would think that there will be enough goodies available for the next 5+ years. We probably haven't even seen a lot of it yet, since the car has only been in the US for 3 years. I guess it comes down to demand...if enough people want some aftermarket part and the right people hear about it, they'll build it.

my guess is yes and no. nothing new like it is now, but all will be supported
for the most part.
Sincerely the guy with your alter ego here in Seattle.
2001 S4 SIlver onyx
usual suspects
stoptech brake kit
rs 4 ****
pilot sports
BBS RX II's
Stongard
Neuspeed/BOrla
and a guy in need of some race slicks to help when the H&R"s get put on next week!

I bet it gets bigger. More S4s coming off lease, being bought used by people who want to mod.
I bet the overall percentage of modded B5-based S4s will be higher when the new one comes out, not lower.

I think it will depend upon how "durable" the car is from a performance standpoint...
If the S4 retains its lead in the combination of features and performance compared to new competitors it will be a desireable used car that will be turned over and modd'd in subsequent generations of owners. A good example might be the earlier models of the M3, don't know if the volume is similar but the car's "durability" in terms of competitiveness remains and so remains pretty popular, and you can get lots of accessories, even though the newer M3's outperform them.
