I'm thinking of going with a Garret "X" chip. Anyone here have any problems so far?

Default It hesitates a little bit between 3k and 4k RPMs on partial throttle

Nothing major, just a minor nit. Nothing weird showing up in VAG logs, but it's happening to enough of us that I suspect something is not quite right.

Other than that I *love* GIAC. Get the IBE Chipswitch. It's about $400 more, but being able to switch to stock or XR without pulling the ECU is great, and the center button on the remote works as a kill-switch for the engine. (i.e. unless the bastard has a spare S4 ECU or a tow truck he is not making off with your car)

And 100Octane + XR program IS like crack.

Default I thought that was certain isolated cases and not a widespread issue?

I NEVER saw problems with the "A" ecu and X-chip

True, not all cases are like that, but it seems common enough to be warned about
