Help!
Has anyone test driven both cars? I have..The impreza seems great except I was dissapointed with lack of torque below 3000rpm. Still, it's about $15 less and it's a great drive.

Don't compare these 2 cars...plz.
The S4 has class and style. If you don't care about either get the WRX. The WRX is a great deal
for the performance. But the it's ugly and the interior sucks. If I was on a tight budget and wanted just performance...WRX wins.

you mean WRX right?...
Frank has both...I've ridden it the WRX. It comes down to a couple of things IMHO:
1. Looks
2. Torque
3. Luxury
4. Modding
You have to decide how you would prioritize these things. If modding is your thing, the WRX can probably be made faster for less $$$. If you're a torque junkey, do NOT get the WRX...if you want luxo...do NOT get the WRX...if you think the luxo interior is a waste of time and too heavy...the WRX is for you.
Both fun cars...VERY different goals from the designers.
1. Looks

3. Luxury
4. Modding

That's basically the question you're asking.
Both cars are fast, one is luxury one is economy.
Are the features, styling, and status of the S4 worth the extra money to you? They are to me.

Re: Right NASA, in capable hands a WRX will lap an S4 on the track (in stock form).
given equal drivers? i'd believe it'd be quite a bit faster fiven the weighting/balance/suspension...but lapping? have you seen this?
