Default Intercooler upgrade for S4, is there such a thing? Is there such a need?

There's been a lot of talk about upgrading the A4 intercooler. How about our cars? I've got the MTM chip and I'm assuming I'm stressing the turbo just as much as the 1.8T's. Why is it that no one's ever mentioned this? Thanks for your input.

Default Best intercooler upgrade is to get rid of your fog lights! :)

(I'm serious!)

Default Taner, have you really noticed much difference with that mod?

I'm wondering if it's worth it :-)

Default

Did you re-locate your fogs or just completely scrapped them?

Default Actually, I dunno what it was.. probably a combination of things:

My *oil* temps stay a lot lower now, and on the track my oil temp *barely* went over 250 (used to get close to 300(!))...

My only other major change is switching to Mobil1 (5w-30) oil... well, and forge valves, but...

But if you read DonP's Intake Air Charge Temperature FAQ you'll see there are benefits.

Plus, just by looking at the car you can see how much airflow you open up!

of course, YMMV

Default Cool... maybe I'll loose the fogs when/if I do a lower grill mod like yours

maybe we can do a group buy on that mesh stuff :-)

Default cool :) My only issue w/ my hack-job is the way it looks up close...

I need to fill and smooth over parts of the grill... but I don't have the facilities to do that..

Have you considered getting RS4 intercoolers??? They are much larger than the S4's.

Default There are several "intercooler" upgrades in the works, but they are all

tied to turbo upgrades as far as I have seen.
