Default Interesting car spotted at the track this past weekend...

An '86 Saab 900 Turbo. Total engine rebuild, major restoration, lots of upgrades. Having owned an '85 900S myself, I was drooling over this thing. It was so neat to watch it run around the track. I never thought I'd see one at the track, but it brought back so many good memories of my first car.

Anyway, if you're a Saab fan or just want to see the extent of the work that went into this car, check it out

That rebuild was pretty cool to read through .. I wish I was that handy to do all that with a car.

Those are fast. I remember the Lambo GTR Cup series. They ran 1:26s at Laguna, which is FAST.

Default Nice ... brings back lots of memories

I think it would have made more sense to start with the shorter and lighter Saab 99. They also had better balance. But ultimately, he is limited by the nose heavy nature of the car, the FWD and the fact that it is old. 200 hp would have been great once upon a time ... but now?

Still, it brings back some nice memories. My family use to run a fleet of 99's when I was younger.

Thanx!

Stephen
