I've STFA, still question about interior buzzing.
It's right behind the HVAC controls, but doesn't seem to have any connection to the fan or fan speed. It's not noticeable until several minutes after starting the car, but then is annoyingly loud, even if the HVAC is off. Lots of stuff in the archives, but I couldn't come to any definite conclusions as to what this sound is. Thoughts?

That's the thing, I'm still under limited used-car purchase warranty. The dealer heard it when it was in for service recently, but wasn't sure what the problem was. They told me that it would take a couple of hours of labor to get in there to determine what's wrong. Depending on what the problem is, they weren't sure if it would be covered. I think if it's a fan, it will be covered, but I just wanted to make sure that's what it is before I risk a couple hundred dollars of labor time on it.

if it's that savagly annoying little buzz that you can pretty much hear over everything but the
loudest of music that sounds like it is coming from the center of the console, then it is definitely the little fan that pulls air in to tell the interior temp of the car for the climate control. Try tapping on those little vents or pressing on them to see if you can get it to react...that sometimes works sometimes not. I can get my dealer to tell me the exact part if you want. I know one of the mechanics and as soon as I described it to him he knew exactly what it was.
