Default Jack and Jack Stands..searched the archives, and here's what I have-- ->

I found two posts that had reasonable pics, but I don't really get it...

<a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/s4/msgs/905070.phtml">click here</a>

<a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/a4/msgs/1591159.phtml">or here</a>

The first is really for a lift..

And the second look precarioius... So what is the best strategy for lifting the car with a floor jack and getting all four corners up on stands?

Need to get all four wheels off the car for a day or so...

Default I place the jackstand under the subframe mounts...

but I have flat top jackstands. If you're using the kind similar to the second link you provided, I would place in the locations Andy indicated (just behind the pinch welds). Although he placed the rear jackstand under the floor of the car, you could also place that one just behind the pinch weld.

Default By careful placement of the stand and the jack.

Yup, that simple. Once you've done it a few times, and you figure out exactly where things go, it isn't so bad. If you have flat top stands, you can place them under the subframe mounts...lots of clearance from the jack if you do that.
