Default jline wheels - forged, lip, inexpensive - any good?

Anyone have any info on jline wheels? STFA, only found one thread. catalog at jlinewheels.com

The MSRP appears to be $435 for a 2-piece 17x8, for their low-end (high polish) finish. An advertiser on another forum mentioned it was $365/ea for the same size.

Any info on these?

That's about the same price as the oettinger RE's I was interested in. Of course I was interested in some other usual styles, of various prices: OZ SL's, Sportec (or the cheaper Moven SP10), SSR GT7-H. Or I could sell a kidney for the uber sweet Angstrom Radial 15 or any Fikse.

I drive through nyc often, afraid of potholes.

Default Hey...those look like my wheels...

Just a few things to note. If you live in pothole infested areas I would steer away from both the potholes and these wheels as the cylinders like to bend. Also if you look closely at the way the wheel is constructed, you'll notice there is a 'lip' inside the wheel. This conveniently traps water inside and causes a nice vibration over 60mph when its raining as well as gives you nice water stains if you don't sop up the water after driving in the rain... I like the way they look and put up with that stuff cuz I already own them but if I were to do it all over again I wouldn't get them...

Thanks for the info.

Is that water trap due to the particular style of the wheel (like 7-spoke vs. the 5-spoke)? Or the staggered lip vs. the reverse lip option? Or is this just a design flaw shared across all 2-piece jline's - and I should just stay away?

vibration over 60mph sounds bad. it always rains here.

Default Pardon me sir.......

but how did you convert your MAF to a Hitachi unit? I'm getting pretty tired of having to replace my Bosch every few months.

Any info would be greatly appreciated

It's an issue with all reverse drop lip wheels. Happens with Iforged and HRE's too.

Default I think its the reverse lip option...

But I'm not 100% sure. My buddy has the Kruez 10's and has the exact same problem. If you look at the cylinders that HRE uses they don't have the additional 'mound' in the inside of the wheel and thus water doesn't get trapped between that and the face of the wheel. I think there are better wheel options out there, but if looks and price are all that matters they're not a bad option.
