Default i think you have to *fit* in a car before you can test the shifter.
most of my friends and I can catch bugs in our teeth driving that thing.

I've seen a lot of tall guys with the top of their heads sticking out above the windshield in a Miata. Not me though. It fits me perfectly.

I kinda a regret trading in my Miata for the S. Should have kept it as a weekend car.

Yea, RSX-S, S2000, NSX are on my top list of "smooth shifters"

Sorry, but I've driven an S2000 a bunch, and while smooth, RSX's box is superior, IMO.
