Default K04-Carnage...Here is the turbo that blew. Borg Warner will not warranty it =( (BWW)

This K04(passenger side) which blew right after my car was started upon completion the first time around. Here are the results..Opinions?

YES the shaft is broken, and the shaft nut came off was found in Y Pipe/Intake manifold area once everything was being taken off again the second time. I'M GLAD NONE OF THIS **** WENT INTO THE MOTOR, OR I'D BE 1000X MORE PISSED. I hope they change their minds and warranty the turbo I've been told they haven't been pre-lubed but I am certain they were..installer is a very reputable friend and is an Audi Tech for 9+ years at the dealer with I'm guessing more than 50 turbo swaps under his belt.(I know of 5+ turbo swaps in the past 6 months) This is the FIRST time this has occurred.

That is all

Why won't Borg Warner cover it under warranty?

Look at the shaft, obvious excessive heat build-up. ie. lack of lubrication

Default Its a matter of which came first..the chicken or the egg, unfortunately in this case..

it can't be told, all I have to say is, they were pre-lubed.

How do we know it wasn't a defective bearing or something else. The turbos WERE pre-lubed

Default If the turbo was prelubed, then you either had a blocked oil line or the guy who installed them

didn't pull the fuel pump fuse and crank the engine over until he had postive oil pressure. That sucks man.

What does "pre-lubed" mean in this context?
